Two New Exhibitions Open at ASÍ Museum

Two new exhibitions, “XGEO III” by painter JBK Ransu, who was born in Reykjavík and educated in the Netherlands and in Ireland, and “Gust” by Finnish visual artist Sari Maarit Cedergren will open at the ASÍ Art Museum today.

Ransu has had many solo exhibitions and taken part in group exhibitions both at home and abroad. The painter is also a poet and art critic, and has written reviews for daily newspaper Morgunbladid since 2002.

Cedergren’s artwork (below) is cast in plaster and cement, and her main theme is different weather conditions and how they affect light.

The artist was born in Finland, but lived in Stockholm before moving to Iceland in 1985. She has studied art in all three countries and her work has been exhibited in Iceland and overseas.

The exhibitions are open until November 18 and admission is free.
