Because the small airplane crashed in a lava field about six kilometers from the road, it was difficult to for the helicopter to access the scene of the accident, reports Morgunbladid. The passengers were taken to the trauma center, but while their plane lies in complete wreckage, they are fortunately walking away from this crash without any serious injury.
The reason for the crash has not been determined, but this will be researched over the next few days.
