Two M4.7 Earthquakes at Bárðarbunga Volcano

Three earthquakes occurred by the northern rim of Bárðarbunga volcano yesterday shortly before midnight. The first one occurred at 11:02 pm and measured at a magnitude of 3.9. The second one, occurring at 11:03 pm, measured M3.2, while the third measured M4.7. At 12:16 am, a second M4.7 earthquake occurred. The two M4.7 earthquakes are the biggest earthquakes to occur at Bárðarbunga volcano since its last eruption. The volcano showed no signs an eruption would occur.
