By Iceland Review

Two Icelandic citizens are currently in remedial custody in Brazil on suspicion of drug smuggling. One was arrested in June when trying to smuggle 2 kg of cocaine out of the country and has been in custody since. According to Icelandic authorities, the man has not yet been tried. If found guilty, he will face up to 18 years in prison. This is reported in Fréttabladid today.

Another Icelander was arrested last Monday on arrival in Sao Paulo from Amsterdam, with over 12 kg of hashish. The man also had several ecstasy tablets in his possession. He has been remanded in custody and if found guilty may face 17 years in prison.
