Two British citizens who were held captive in the infamous Guantanamo prison camp are currently in Iceland in connection with the Reykjavík International Film Festival. The film The Road to Guantanamo, which is based on their experiences, is part of the festival lineup. RÚV reports.
The two men, Ruhel Ahmed and Asif Iqbal, were guests on the Kastljós news program yesterday evening and related their experience of their ordeal. They say it has been extremely difficult to resume normal lives and that it helps them to deal with their anger to inform others about conditions at the prison and fight for its closure. They will take part in a panel discussion held at the Idnó theater this evening and will subsequently attend a screening of The Road to Guantanamo.
