Two Fatal Accidents in Iceland

death-announcementsA man fell from a balcony on the sixth floor of a building in Lautarsmári, Kópavogur, shortly after 10 am yesterday. The man suffered critical injuries and his death was later confirmed by a physician at the ER of the national hospital Landspítali in Reykjavík.

When the police and ambulance workers arrived at the scene, the man was barely conscious. He was immediately taken to the ER, visir.is reports.

The investigation of the accident is in the initial stages and the circumstances are unknown.

On Saturday evening, a 46-year-old man fell off a dirt motorbike close to a training area in Sandskeið, South Iceland. He was taken to hospital by ambulance but died shortly afterwards.

According to visir.is, the circumstances of the accident are unknown and it is uncertain whether there were any witnesses.
