The long awaited report of the nine member committee of has just been published. The committee is split three ways on what to do. Five members out of nine suggest that four ministers be brought before a special court, Landsdómur. The four are: Prime Minister and leader of the Independence Party Geir Haarde, former Minister of Commerce Björgvin G. Sigurdsson, former Minister of Finance Árni M. Mathiesen and former Minister for Foreign Affairs Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir.

The two members of the Social Democratic Alliance propose that only three be brought to court, they exclude Björgvin G. Sigurdsson..

The two members of the Independence party do not want any charges brought against former ministers. will publish some translations from the report shortly.

Correction: Originally the story said that former Social Democratic Chairman Ingibjörg Sólrún Gísladóttir was excluded in the proposal of Social Democratic Alliance members. The members exclude Björgvin G. Sigurdsson in their proposal, but want charges to be brought against Gísladóttir.
