The driver of the truck which landed off the road in Brattabrekka, east of Snæfellsnes, West Iceland, yesterday is in intensive care at Landspítali National University Hospital, RÚV reports.
His injuries are considerable, but he remains conscious.
The truck is completely wrecked. It took rescue workers a long time to release the driver from the wreck. He was subsequently transported by the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter to Landspítali Hospital.
