Traveler Slept in Prison Cell as Hotels Were Full

A resident of West Iceland, who had just returned to the country after traveling abroad, arrived to the police station on Hverfisgata in central Reykjavík yesterday morning and requested permission to stay in a prison cell as all hotels in the capital region were fully booked.

The police accepted the traveler’s explanation and agreed to the request, mbl.is reports.
