Travel Warning across Parts of Iceland

A storm warning is in place for parts of Iceland and many roads in the northwest are closed due to snow. The strongest wind is forecast for the northwest but winds will also reach up to 25 m/s in the northeast. Snow or sleet is forecast across the country over the next few days, with the exception of the south.

The bad weather is set to continue through the weekend. Óli Þór Árnason, meteorologist at the Icelandic Met Office, urges people not to take unnecessary risks traveling between regions during the Christmas period.
