Traces of bird-flu detected in a Reykjavík Zoo

Traces of antibodies of a harmless strain of the bird-flu virus have been detected in chickens in the Reykjavík “Family and domestic animal park” at Laugardalur, Húsdýragardurinn.

The Surgeon General’s office has issued a statement saying that harmless strains of the bird-flu virus are common in wild animals and of no danger to humans and therefore it does not recommend taking any action.
