Tourists in Iceland spent ISK 9.8 billion (USD 82 million, EUR 62 million) in June, according to the latest statistics from the University of Bifröst’s Centre for Retail Studies.

Visitors to Iceland spent most on accommodation, followed by shopping and then tourism services such as sightseeing and whale watching tours, visir.is reports.
Tourists spent around ISK 1.1 billion with credit cards on restaurants in June, an increase of 24 percent compared to the same month last year.
At the same time, Icelanders spent 6.6 percent less on travel services in June than during the same period last year.
