By Iceland Review

A foreign tourist is seriously injured after the car he was driving rolled over in the slopes of Reynisfjall mountain, west of Vík í Mýrdal, South Iceland, around 1 pm.

According to police, the car was being driven along the track on the east side of the mountain when it rolled over. The man, who was traveling with his family, was alone in the car at the time of the accident. He was backing the car in a curve when it went off the track and landed upside down in a ditch.

The man was transported by the Icelandic Coast Guard helicopter to Landspítal National University Hospital.
