Tourist Rescued from Snæfellsnes

Search and rescue services found the man who had been hiking on Snæfellsjökull during the storm yesterday. The man, who had been camping, called the emergency number around 4 pm yesterday. Gusts of up to 50 meters per second were forecast for Snæfellsnes yesterday.

Around 40 people from two rescue teams were sent to look for him with snowmobiles, jeeps and snow vehicles, ruv.is reports. He was found late yesterday afternoon.

The man’s tent was shredded from the wind.
