Tourist Activities in Reykjavík over Christmas

By Iceland Review

Visit Reykjavík has compiled a comprehensive list of services and activities offered to tourists in the capital region over the holidays, including information on the opening hours of restaurants, museums and swimming pools.

It is becoming increasingly popular to visit Iceland during the holiday season and tourist agencies have received complaints that there is not enough on offer in Iceland’s capital at this time of year, according to a press release from Visit Reykjavík.

However, this holiday season tourists will be able to choose from a broader range of services and activities than in previous years and Visit Reykjavík is also keen on informing visitors of the opening hours of restaurants and service outlets.

On December 31, most swimming pools will remain open until 12:30 and Laugar Spa and the Blue Lagoon will not close until 4 pm on New Year’s Eve. A total of 24 restaurants will be open on New Year’s Eve, which is a new record.
