Torfusamtökin Association Presents 101 Opportunities

Torfusamtökin, an association fighting for preserving the Reykjavík street image in the 101 postal zone, is hosting a meeting in the Idno house, downtown Reykjavík, today at 2 pm entitled 101 Opportunities.

The purpose is to discuss the future of 101 Reykjavík and which role the city’s historical buildings and cultural heritage should play during the renovation of Laugavegur, Reykjavík’s main shopping street, and the Kvosin neighborhood, around the Reykjavík Pond, Austurstreati, Laekjargata and Kalkofnsvegur.

Speakers include RÚV program maker Eva María Jónsdóttir, Guja Dögg Hauksdóttir, manager of the Kjarvalsstadir Art Museum architecture department, architects Margrét Hardardóttir and Steve Christer from Studio Grandi and economist and reporter Sigmundur Davíd Gunnlaugsson.

There will be open discussions during the meeting and everyone is welcome.
