A woman intending to make some purchases at a shopping mall yesterday evening decided to shoplift the goods instead because she felt the prices were too high, reports mbl.is.
Police were called to Smáralind shopping mall in Kópavogur in the capital region in the early evening yesterday to deal with the alleged theft. The woman had been stopped on her way out of a store, carrying products worth about 29,000 ISK (USD 280, EUR 250) that she had not paid for.
The woman explained that although she had the money to pay for the goods, she did not want to because she thought the prices were too high so she decided to steal them instead.
Police had been called to the same shopping center a few hours earlier because of another shoplifting incident. In that case, two women had allegedly filled a bag with about 35,000 ISK (USD 340, EUR 300) worth of goods, but they were also stopped as they tried to make their way out of the store.
