Tom Odell Announces Iceland Concert

The British singing sensation Tom Odell is set to play at Harpa in Reykjavík this summer.

“I have been seeing how he is at concerts and based on what I have seen, and the reviews I have read, I know that this is going to be a great concert,” says promoter Guðbjartur Finnbjörnsson.

Guðbjartur is the promoter behind the recently announced Tom Odell gig in the Eldborg concert hall at Harpa in Reykjavík on 26th June.

Odell shot to fame last year with his album Long Way Down, and he and his album have received rave reviews and awards including the Critics Choice award at the Brit Awards last year; where he has also been nominated for two awards this year as Best Newcomer and Best Male Solo Artist, Vísir.is reports.

The British musician will play with his own band in Iceland, although he has gained a reputation on his own as a piano genius and is believed by many to be the next big British worldwide star. “There are, for example, many who compare him to David Bowie when he was in his younger years,” Guðbjartur adds.

“It’s great to get him to Eldborg as he will be so near to the audience there and if everything goes well for him, it is unlikely we’ll get to see him in such a small venue in the future.” Eldborg is the biggest hall at Harpa and seats 1,800 guests.

Tom Odell will sing all his biggest songs, including Another Love, which has been listened to over 26 million times on YouTube. Zwette, a remixed version of the same song, has had over 36 million hits on YouTube.

Ticket sales to the concert start on Tuesday 6th May on midi.is and harpa.is.
