U.S. actor Tobey Maguire is currently in Iceland to star as chess champion Bobby Fischer in a new film, which will partially be shot in Iceland, visir.is reports.

The film, entitled Pawn Sacrifice, centers on Fischer and the 1972 World Chess Championship, which took place in Iceland and is often referred to as the Match of the Century. There, Fischer defeated the Russian Boris Spassky.
Maguire is among the world’s most popular actors, known for his recurring role as Spiderman.
Although Iceland is the setting, shooting mostly takes place in Canada, apart from three days in Iceland.
