Three Percent of Icelanders Eat Whale Meat Regularly

Three percent of Icelanders eat whale meat regularly—defined as six times or more per year—according to the latest Capacent poll conducted on behalf of International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW), mbl.is reports.

According to the poll, 75 percent of Icelanders never buy whale meat. Eighty-two percent of women and 86 percent of respondents aged 18 to 24 said they never purchase whale meat.

A total of 1,450 individuals were surveyed.
