Three men were arrested in Selfoss, south Iceland, on Sunday on suspicion of having raped a young woman at a hotel in the town the night before. They were released after questioning on Sunday evening but still have the status of suspects.

A fourth individual was called in for questioning as a witness. The woman who accused the three men of rape came to the police station in Selfoss at 8 am on Sunday morning, Morgunbladid reports.
The police say an extensive forensic investigation was conducted in the hotel room where the alleged violation is said to have taken place and samples will now be tested.
The Selfoss police are being assisted by the forensics department of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police.
No further information about the investigation will be released at this point.
