Three adventurers kayaked down Goðafoss waterfall around noon yesterday. 641.is reported first.
The first two kayakers descended the waterfall from the eastern fork of the river, while the third descended from the west, the first individual known to have done so on kayak.
The same trio made the adventurous descent two years ago, also in the winter. A few tourists visiting the site got the unexpected treat of witnessing the thrilling descent.
Located in Northeast Iceland, Goðafoss’s name can be translated as “waterfall of the gods”. It is 12 metres high and 30 metres wide.
