Minister of Education Thorgerdur Katrín Gunnarsdóttir has approved a proposal from the Housing Preservation Society regarding the preservation of three historic buildings in Akureyri, northeast Iceland.
The preservation does not apply to the inside of the buildings, Fréttabladid reports.
The buildings in question are located on Hafnarstraeti 94, 96 and 98 and are considered to have great value for the street image, as corner houses or as prominent landmarks in downtown Akureyri.
