Thousands of Copies of Book ‘Paintings’ Sold to the U.S.

American lifestyle chain Anthropology has ordered thousands of copies of the book Paintings by Icelandic artist Eggert Pétursson, published by Crymogea.

Publisher Kristján B Jónasson told, “Eggert is not well known in the U.S. but the deal will change that. It will provide him with a new audience, who would not otherwise see his work.”

There are currently 175 Anthropology stores in the U.S.

Eggert Pétursson (born 1956) is best known for his paintings of the Icelandic flora. They appear to be abstract at a distance but up close, the paintings are hyper-realistic.
