Thirteen Fireworks Accidents in Iceland

Thirteen people, eleven men and two women, sought treatment at the emergency room of the Landspítali National University Hospital, due to accidents caused by fireworks this holiday season. One person obtained serious injuries to the face. The youngest victim was six years old.

The accidents occurred on New Year’s Eve and yesterday, the last day of Christmas, which is also celebrated with fireworks.

According to ruv.is, the number of accidents is fewer than last year.
