Third Suspect in Murder Case Arrested and Released

Police arrested a third suspect in relation to the investigation of a murder in Hafnarfjördur on Wednesday. The man was questioned on Wednesday evening and yesterday but was later released as there weren’t enough grounds to demand custody over him.

Twelve days have passed since Hannes Thór Helgason, managing director of the candy manufacturer Góa-Linda, was murdered in his home in Hafnarfjördur. He was buried yesterday; the funeral was well attended, ruv.is reports.

According to visir.is, a number of samples were collected at the crime scene and have been sent to Sweden for analysis. The results are expected within four weeks.
