A total of 21 new Icelandic documentaries will be screened at Skjaldborg in addition to six works in progress. This year’s honorary guest is Thorfinnur Gudnason and six of his documentaries will also be screened during the festival, according to its offical website.

Apart from promoting new Icelandic documentaries, Skjaldborg is also intended to be a platform for filmmakers and film enthusiasts to meet and exchange opinions. The festival closes with the audience selecting the best documentary of Skjaldborg 2009.

Admission to all screenings is free.
