The world’s fifth most famous nerd from Iceland

Icelandic comedian Jón Gnarr is the world’s fifth most famous nerd according to Wikipedia, the internet encyclopedia. Gnarr said he is very proud of this achievement.

“This is almost like being on the Forbes list,” Gnarr told Fréttabladid. Apparently, if the words “famous” and “nerds” are typed into the Wikipedia search engine, about 700 results are delivered and Jón Gnarr is the fifth most relevant search engine result.

Gnarr starred in the comedy sketch Fóstbraedur (“Blood Brothers”) and is a presenter in the satire radio program Tvíhöfdi (“Double Head”). Gnarr became very popular for his standup comedy I Used to Be a Nerd, describing his childhood.

Other famous nerds on Wikipedia’s list include Apple CEO Steve Jobs, Ross Geller, a character from the sitcom Friends, and actors from the film Revenge of the Nerds.
