Yesterday, Icelandic strongman Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, also known as ‘The Mountain,’ broke his own world record in keg toss at the 2016 World’s Strongest Man competition in Botswana, RÚV reports. The competition runs through August 20th.
Hafþór launched a 15 kg keg over a 7.15 meter bar, thereby breaking his world record set earlier this year in Columbus, Ohio, according to barbend.com.
Hafþór has competed in four events this far and will complete his group competition tomorrow. He ranks first in Group 3 after four days of competing, with 22 points. The ten top contestants in the group competition move on to compete for the title World’s Strongest Man.
Icelandic strongman Ari Gunnarsson is among the contestants in Botswana. He ranks third in group 4 and must perform well today to make it to the final.
