A tunnel is going to be constructed between the remote northern towns of Siglufjordur and Olafsfjordur, the Minister of Transportation announced yesterday.
The tunnel will, according to the minister, help stimulate employment in the north.
When completed, the mountain tunnel will be 10.7 km, the longest tunnel in Iceland.
