The Guardian Recommends Reykjavík Film Festival

The fifth annual Reykjavík International Film Festival (RIFF) was held between September 25 and October 5 this year and received considerable attention abroad. In a coverage of European festivals, The Guardian highly recommends RIFF.

According to Fréttabladid, The Guardian concluded that RIFF’s success is based on its screening of untraditional indie movies by artists who are about to make names for themselves and presentations by the likes of filmmaker Atom Egoyan and critic Gerald Peary.

The article mentioned the hot tub in Sundhöll Reykjavíkur, the 101 Reykjavík swimming pool, as a good place to relax after intensive film viewing.

Other festivals recommended by The Guardian include the Toronto, Warsaw and Prague film festivals.
