The Eruption? Officially not over yet

Earlier today the Scientific Council of the Public safety committee met to discuss the eruption in Eyjafjallajökull. The council did not decide to declare the eruption over yet.

Vídir Reynisson, manager of the Public Safety division of the National Commissioner of the Icelandic Police, told visir.is that the chance of some events in Eyjafjallajökull without notice was slim. “We are currently estimating the danger in cooperation with locals and others.”

Reynisson says that the glacier is dangerous and that ban on travel over parts of the glacier is still in effect.
