The trilingual tour guides Around Iceland, Rund um Island and Á ferd um Ísland 2009 have been released. The English version has been published for 34 years in a row, the German version for 12 years and the Icelandic version for 19.
The tour guides are free and are distributed to the most frequented travel destinations around the country. They include extensive information on each region, listing of service outlets and maps that mark the locations of hotels, guest houses, camping areas and swimming pools.
The tour guides also include a chapter with general facts about Iceland, the country’s history and culture, along with information on the main events and festivals that are scheduled this summer.
A wealth of photographs, many of which are taken by Iceland Review’s photographer Páll Stefánsson, fill their pages.
Surveys indicate that the Iceland guides are popular among foreign tourists. One third of all foreign tourists in Iceland use the guides and 48 percent of all German-speaking tourists. The guides are published by Heimur Ltd.
