Textile puffins on display

Heidi Strand, a Norwegian visual artist who lives in Iceland, will open a textile exhibition in Reykjavík City Hall on June 9. Works on display include a picture of a puffin cliff.

Strand will exhibit a total of 17 works created between 2005 to 2007. She uses Icelandic wool mixed with other textiles in her work and applies different techniques like felt making, painting, embroidering, quilting and croqueting.

The City Hall exhibition will be Strand’s 19th solo exhibition. She has also participated in 24 joint exhibitions in Europe, Asia and America.

The exhibition will be open until June 24.
