Close to ten people took part in the annual New Year’s swim of the police in Iceland yesterday, held at Nauthólsvík beach near Reykjavík every year on January 1.
Three police officers and other interested swimmers swam in the 3.9°C cold water. The weather was calm and sunny. Morgunbladid reports.
Stefán Eiríksson, who was recently appointed the new chief of police for Reykjavík and the capital area, supervised the swimmers.
