Teenagers Assault Peer, Post Video on Internet

Three 15-year-old boys brutally assaulted their peer in Njardvík in southwest Iceland yesterday, kicked him in the head repeatedly, while the fourth boy recorded the assault and later posted the video on the internet.

Police received numerous reports about the video yesterday and immediately launched an investigation into the attack. The parents of two of the attackers then contacted the police, shocked at their sons’ behavior, Fréttabladid reports.

The victim went to the hospital with an extremely swollen face. His parents have charged his attackers, whose identities are known. One of the boys has been questioned by police and was unable to properly explain the motives behind the assault.

“This is among the most brutal things I’ve seen such young kids do,” said Jón Thór Karlsson, duty officer at Sudurnes Police.

The assault is considered very serious. All boys, including the one who recorded the assault, can be held responsible. The crime they committed may result in many years in prison.
