Teenager Confesses to Sunnubúd Robbery

An 18-year-old boy has confessed to committing the armed robbery in the family-run grocery store Sunnubúd in the Hlídar neighborhood in Reykjavík on Sunday. He threatened the clerk with a knife and demanded money from the cash register.

The thief was arrested yesterday. The store’s security cameras provided police with clear pictures of him. He does not have a criminal record, Morgunbladid reports.

This isn’t the first robbery at Sunnubúd. In 2007, three men armed with a club and an ax barged into the store and left with money and tobacco.
