Tarantino to return to Iceland

US director Quentin Tarantino is planning to return to Iceland to attend the premiere of his horror movie Death Proof on June 8, which will be the director’s third visit to Iceland.

Tarantino first came to Iceland in November 2005 to promote Eli Roth’s The Hostel, which he co-produced. He returned to Iceland one month later, Fréttabladid reports.

Tarantino reportedly fell for Iceland and has expressed his interest in making movies about Vikings. He has been interviewed on the news program Kastljós (“Spotlight”) and was even invited to meet Iceland’s President Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson.

Death Proof, starring Kurt Russell and Rose McGowan, is the first of two films in the series The Grindhouse. The second film, Planet Terror, will be directed by Robert Rodriguez.
