US director Quentin Tarantino celebrated New Year’s Eve at Hotel Loftleidir in Reykjavík along with his friend and colleague Eli Roth, Icelandic actor Eythór Gudjónsson, who starred in Hostel, and Icelandic director Baltasar Kormákur.
According to visir.is, Tarantino, who has visited Iceland on many other occasions, was casually dressed in a hooded sweatshirt while other guests wore suits and gowns, as is customary in Iceland on New Year’s Eve.
Other guests at Hotel Loftleidir said the phrase “dress to impress” had not applied to Tarantino on New Year’s Eve, though they said the director had certainly been sociable.
Apparently, Tarantino chatted with his Icelandic colleague Baltasar Kormákur for some time, who was dressed for the occasion in a dark suit and white bow tie.
