Tamy Ben-Tor Exhibition in 101 Projects

By Iceland Review

Israeli-born visual artist Tami Ben-Tor is currently exhibiting her latest work in the 101 Projects exhibition space on behalf of 101 Gallery in central Reykjavík. The artist is best known for her video installations and her performance art.

Ben-Tor plays various characters in her video installations and her work is often based on sensitive issues like terrorism, racism and the Holocaust. She uses black humor and criticizes her own personal circumstances in a merciless way.

Ben-Tor’s work has been on display in galleries in cities around the world, including Stockholm, Tokyo, Los Angeles, Sidney and New York. Her 101 Projects exhibition is undertaken in cooperation with the Zach Feuer Gallery in New York and is part of the Sequences Festival.

The exhibition runs through November 16. It is curated by Birta Gudjónsdóttir. For further information visit 101 Project’s new website.
