Swedish Pop Diva to Play at Iceland Airwaves

The organizers of the Iceland Airwaves music festival announced this week that Swedish recording artist and singer-songwriter Robyn will be part of the lineup for the upcoming festival on October 13-17. It will be her first live show in Iceland.

This year’s lineup also includes the melodic electro trio Moderat and “a gentle and vocal infusion” from Hundreds, the Iceland Airwaves newsletter describes; both acts are from Germany.

From Canada, lo-fi indie rock band Snailhouse will participate in the festival, as will multi-instrumentalist Toro Y Moi from the US.

The presence of UK synth-pop group Silver Columns has also been confirmed, as has that of London’s Factory Floor with its “pulsing post-industrial rhythms.”

From Finland, Airwaves presents three-piece “boy-baiting” female electro-pop band Le Corps Mince De Francoise.

As for Icelandic performers, the lineup includes blues-country-folk queen Lay Low, the “silky sounds” of Rökurró, hip hoppers Diddi Fel and Emmsjé Gauti, melodic post-rock group For A Minor Reflection, post-hardcore metal band Endless Dark, and more.
