A man in his forties who is believed to have beaten his neighbor to death will remain in custody at least until October 15, according to a court order issued yesterday.
The victim, who was a male in his fifties, was found unconscious with serious head injuries in his residence in Reykjavík on Sunday. He succumbed to his wounds a few hours later in hospital care.
The man suspected of the brutal assault, who lives in the same house as the victim. called the police. The circumstances of the attack are still unclear but according to Morgunbladid daily, both the men have criminal records.
