According to a the latest MMR survey, 34 percent of Icelanders support the current government. This number follows the downward trend that could be seen in the two previous surveys: on September 8, 36.3 percent supported the governing parties, and 38.5 percent did so on August 28.
Support for the Independence Party amounts to 25.2 percent, compared to 28.2 percent in the last survey and 26.6 percent and the end of August.
Support for the Social Democrats stands at 15.2 percent, while they were supported by 16.9 percent at the beginning of the month and 20.3 percent at the end of August.
At the same time, support for the opposition party Bright Future stands at18.8 percent. Support for the Prime Minister’s Progressive Party and the Left-Green Movement is up to 12.3 and 12.5 percent respectively. The Pirate Party is supported by 9.7 percent of the population.
The poll was conducted September 20 to 25. MMR polled 1,436 persons 18 years and older.
