Support for Iceland’s Government Wanes

Support for Iceland’s coalition government is currently at 49.3 percent, according to the latest MMR poll taken August 9-14. The latest figures show a 5.5 percent drop in support since the last poll, ruv.is reports.

Support for the Independence Party stands at 27.9 percent, down from 29.7 percent, while support for the other coalition party, the Progressive Party, however, increased from 16.7 percent to 18.1 percent.

Support for the Left-Greens also increased, from 13.1 percent to 14.4 percent while the Pirate Party lost 1.5 percent support, now 7.1 percent.

According to the poll, the Social Democrats lost 0.5 percent support, now standing at 13 percent, while support for Bright Future measured 11.7 percent, down one percentage point.

A total of 914 people took part in the survey.
