Support for Iceland’s Progressive Party-Independence Party ruling coalition measures 34.8 percent in the latest MMR poll, published this morning, down from 37.3 percent in the last poll from mid-December.
Support for both ruling parties is down. The Independence Party has 27.3 percent support, down from 29.4 percent, and Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson’s Progressive Party has 9.4 percent, down from 11.4 percent.
Bright Future has 16.9 percent support, up from 16. 2 percent, the Social Democrats 15.9 percent, down from 16.1 percent, the Pirate Party 12.8 percent, up from 11.4 percent and the Left-Greens 11.9 percent, up from 10.4 percent in the last poll. Support for the other parties measured less than 2 percent.
Support for the government measured 36.6 percent in a Capacent-Gallup poll published in early January.
