Support for EU Accession Unchanged

By Iceland Review

Roughly one third, or 33.3 percent of Icelanders, want to join the European Union, according to the latest MMR poll, published today. The result is similar to one year ago when a survey indicated that 32.3 percent of Icelanders wanted to join the EU.

At the same time, 48.5 percent of respondents were against joining the EU in the most recent poll, compared to 50 percent in January 2014.

Today, ten percent of those who support the government are for joining the EU, compared to 51.6 percent of respondents who do not support the government.

The poll was conducted January 26 to 29. A total of 1,003 respondents 18 years and older took part.
