The political party Bright Future has 21.8 percent support, up from 19.2 percent one month ago, according to the latest MMR poll published today. Support for the Independence Party, the largest party in Iceland, is unchanged at 25 percent.
Prime Minister Sigmundur Davíð Gunnlaugsson’s Progressive Party has 9.5 percent, down from 10.2 percent. Support for the Social Democrats and the Left-Greens is relatively unchanged at 16.5 percent and 11.4 percent respectively. Meanwhile, the Pirate Party has 8.3 percent support, down almost 2.5 percent from the May 23 poll.
The other parties measure less than 1 percent support.
Support for the government stands at 38 percent, more than the 34.5 percent and 36.8 percent support rating it received during the previous two months.
The poll, based on the responses from 943 individuals, was conducted from June 18-23.
