Supernova: Magni on his way back home

Magni Ásgeirsson, Iceland’s own contestant in the Rock Star Supernova reality TV show, is on his way back to Iceland after landing in fourth place in the show’s finale last night. Canadian Lukas Rossi was selected to front the Supernova band.

In an interview with Morgunbladid, Magni said he was content with the outcome. “I knew Lukas would win. He truly deserved it,” he said, adding that he was looking forward to coming home. But was he unhappy about not being chosen to front the band? “No, I never thought I would get this far. If the truth be told, I expected to be sent home after the first two weeks,” he said.

Despite not winning the top prize, Magni will embark on a six-week concert tour with the band in January. He also admits to having received several career offers due to his participation on the show, but refused to reveal any details. When asked what he would do when he got home, he replied, “My first task will be to turn off the phone, rest, and play with my son for a few weeks. Iceland is where my family is, and that’s where my heart is.”
