The sun will be shining in North and East Iceland, while Iceland’s capital region will not see proper sunshine, apart from a few hours here and there, until July 25, according to the long-term forecast on the website of the Norwegian Meteorological Institution, yr.no.
However, even though the sun will hardly peak through the clouds, the temperature in Reykjavík will be relatively high, above 10°C (50°F), visir.is reports.
The weather is expected to be similar in Vestmannaeyjar, South Iceland, and Ísafjörður, the West Fjords. Those thirsting for sun and tired of rainy days should travel to North or East Iceland, where the temperature might reach 20°C (68°F) early next week.
