While many people return to work today after the long festival weekend, the good weather in the capital continues. Reykjavík will be warm and sunny today with a temperature of up to 19ºC (66.2ºF) today. Temperatures will reach 16ºC (60.8ºF) in other parts of West Iceland but there will be strong northwesterly wind and strong gusts of up to 18 m/s in Snæfellsnes, Breiðafjörður, the West Fjords, south of Vatnajökull, Southeast Iceland, and the East Fjords. Driving can be dangerous in such strong wind, the Icelandic Met Office warns.
It will mostly be dry in the west but it will rain in the east.
Today it is expected wind up to 18 m/s and strong gusts south of Vatnajökull and in the south of Austfirðir. In the afternoon is also expected up to 18 m/s in Snæfellsnes, Breiðafjörð and in Vestfirðir. Dangerous for vehicles which are sensitive for wind.
Tomorrow the temperature will reach 16ºC in Reykjavík. It will be dry in the capital but there will be rain or light drizzle in many other parts of the country.
